I started out as a selfthought musician,  quite late at the age of 18. Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria ingrained a deep connectedness and understanding for groove based music such as Funk, Reggae, Hip Hop & Afrobeat.

My musical journey eventually led me to study jazz, pushing me into harmonic and melodic worlds I hadn’t explored before. Studying with Christian Havel, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Oz Noy, Tony Pusztai and Heimo Trixner expanded my perspective - but my goal has always been the same: to play in service of the music and to reach the audience on an emotional level.

With my Band Sketches on Duality, I get to bring all these influences together—improvisation, raw energy, storytelling.

 

When I’m not on stage, I love passing that knowledge on, helping students in Vienna find their own voice on the guitar.
